Matthew DiGiovanna is a salvaged material sculptor and yard sale guru originally from Brooklyn, NY, now living in Memphis, TN. Inspired by his long career at FedEx, where he was a Chief Engineer for 20+ years, Matthew constructs assemblage sculptures and functional art objects using repurposed materials, fusing industrial and antique elements with contemporary craftsmanship to create unexpected combinations.
These sculptures variously incorporate light, sound, and video into their framework. All objects are handcrafted and one-of-a- kind, guided by Matthew’s personal aesthetic; a mixture of up-scaled, steampunk design and inventive engineering, combined with a heavy dose of irreverent wit, humor, and ingenuity.
