This mounted metallic ray gun is a homage to the 1930s hero Flash Gordon, the handsome galactic warrior who saved the Earth from near certain destruction in his daily comic strip, which ran from 1934 to 1992. The phaser is activated when the electrical circuit is completed by the touch of a hand, triggering multicolor lights and sounds as particle beams. Retrofit in the body of the model is an iphone, which plays the 1980 sci-fi film entitled after the galactic hero.
